Getting started with a WELLPOINT People Counter is straightforward: setup takes about 5 minutes per device. This guide walks you through each step, from unboxing to the first counts in your dashboard.
Step 1: Unbox Your WELLPOINT Device
The box contains the counter (Pulse V3), a 5 V USB power supply with cable, a mounting bracket, two double-sided adhesive strips, a QR code to the installation guide, and your WELLPOINT.cloud access.
Step 2: Plug In the Power Adapter
Connect the cable to the counter and plug the adapter into a mains socket near the door. There is no network cable: the device has built-in mobile data, included in every plan, and Wi-Fi is possible where the mobile signal is weak, for example in a basement.
Step 3: Register and Sync in WELLPOINT.cloud
Log in at wellpoint.cloud and register the device with its serial number. Give it a name, a location and the correct timezone, and set the detection direction – which walking direction counts as an entry. Then hold the button on the counter for 3 seconds to sync; a light and a beep confirm it.
Step 4: Mount the Device
Mount the counter beside the entrance on the door frame or wall (an anti-theft gate is also possible), 1.2 to 1.4 meters above the floor and at a right angle to the walking direction. Use the bracket or the adhesive strips. The counter is for indoor use, at 0 to 40 °C.
Step 5: Test, Then Start Analyzing
Walk through the door a few times in both directions and check that entries and exits appear correctly in the dashboard. From then on, WELLPOINT.cloud is real-time, with data updates every 5 minutes on PLUS and PRO (hourly on LITE), in a browser that also works on a phone.
Tips for Good Results
- One device covers a doorway up to about 2.4 m; group several devices as one entrance for wider doors.
- Repeat the walk-through test if the entrance area is rearranged.
- Use the CSV export on PLUS and PRO to combine counts with sales data in Excel or your ERP.
